bq. When it comes to Web development these days, you have a lot of options. Many of these methods involve preprocessing‚Äîthat is, embedding code into HTML pages with special tags that signal to a preprocessor that they contain code, and that it should do something with it. Much like a CGI, this code is then run on the server, and it returns some content, which then assumes part of the shape of the resulting HTML page sent back to the browser. Both the open source scripting language PHP and languages within Microsoft’s ASP.NET framework fall into this category; JavaServer Pages (JSP) and Perl/Mason operate this way as well. In this article I’ll focus on PHP, the technology Oracle has chosen to incorporate into its products, and ASP.NET. I’ll overview the various strengths and weaknesses of each, discussing in particular those areas that will help you make your decision on which to go with for your development project. There are a lot of factors to consider, and different projects may appeal to a different technology. In conclusion you’ll find a point-by-point comparison in terms of price, speed and efficiency, security, cross-platform support, and the advantages of an open source solution.
This is a terrific article specifying the differences, strengths, and weaknesses that both PHP and ASP.Net have. It makes for a great comparision.
I am so sick of the government trying to run our lives. Last time I checked, we were almost in a democracy… But finally, someone sees a little bit of the light and a bit of what America is all about.

Yesterday, a federal district court decided that the law was unconstitutional because it failed the strict scrutiny test and was also void for vagueness. Read the 15-page decision [PDF]. A summary of the case’s holdings with quotations here.
Games, just like guns, do not kill people. People kill people.
I’ve decided that I want to try my hand at some fiction. Granted, I am not the best writer, and I much prefer programming languages to English, but I think this might be fun. I’m hoping to enjoy myself and perhaps learn a bit about myself and writing in the process. I’ve got 4 pages so far and a pretty spiffy cover logo (once again, I spend too much time on the fancies) but, as of yet, I don’t think the story is developed enough to be on a place that gets this much review. I’ll post a linkey in a bit, when I have something worthy of postage.
Actually, I am, but she posted it, and I think it’s funny. Says she.
That’s me when I’m tired and High on LIFE. How very strange of me. Yes it’s quite strange. I’m still wondering how one gets high on life…
